A lot of these actually look familiar to me, even though I’ve never been to Australia haha. I guess social media is just funny like that 😛 It’s so neat to see how current/topical some of these are (like that mural of the naked Kardashians selfie). That’s the cool thing about street art – it’s always changing 🙂 thanks for a great guide! Will definitely save it for when I visit.

Graffiti Art seems to have become a key point not only for refurbishing old buildings but it is also seen as a great way of bringing back culture and a slow-pace life into city areas that are otherwise forgotten. I am a huge fan of art in general and street art is always on my list when I visit new cities! Great to know about the Waterford Street Art Festival. 😉

Hi Cynthia, in Melbourne/Collingwood there are a few funky shops, with old and quirky stuff. Try to get into the end to end building and visit the rooftop! It was closed when I was there. And don’t miss out on the Grace Café and the Rose Street Market on Sunday!

Thanks for your insight. Tagging graffiti art is truly ruining the artworks of street artistis and in my opinion should be regarded as an offence. Firstly they should try to prevent people from tagging and then eventually introduce a sort of tagging-fine. Not sure it will work out, but at least it can prevent this issue from scaling up.

Just a pity some people cant show respect and find the need to deface when at no time have they improved the art work as what is suppose to be the case. No matter what occurs there will always be new art painted on a wall as one is created one may be covered up. I have been lucky many times to find some murals untouched and then to come along a few days later and the art work is destroyed. There are many other locations in and around Melbourne with many councils paying artist to protect walls or even home owners having murals painted to enhance and protect their home. With many lucky that the taggers never ruin the art work/
